Since December 2014 the Environmental Campus Birkenfeld, the largest educational and research institution in the region, has been supporting the regional quality and origin programme SooNahe.

The Umwelt-Campus helps to further develop the regional producer-consumer partnership. The aim is to promote regional marketing and also to strengthen the local economy.

An essential component of the partnership is mutual support in the area of sustainable regional development. Long-term cooperation in teaching, research and further education should take place.

In addition, the Environmental Campus would like to make a contribution to strengthening the unique cultural and natural environment of the Hunsrück and Nahe regions.
