Welcome to the International Buddy Program!

The International Buddy Program lets German and international students meet and help each other. Students at Environmental Campus Birkenfeld can support international students and welcome them to Germany. The buddies from campus get involved on a voluntary basis and can take part in special activities with international students to get to know each other better.

At the beginning of the semester there is a training course on intercultural communication; participation in this course is compulsory. Here you will receive an introduction to communicating with other cultures, which will help you to minimise misunderstandings and problems with your buddy.

You will receive a certificate of participation for your social and intercultural commitment. We also offer you the opportunity to take part in interesting activities and excursions free of charge or at a reduced price. The programme also gives you the opportunity to practise your foreign language skills and acquire intercultural competencies.
