A foreign University Entrance Qualification (UEQ) typically consists of the school diploma earned in the applicant‘s home country or a combination of a higher education admission exam, school diploma and years of postsecondary study.
You can find out whether your higher education entrance qualification (UEQ) from your home country qualifies you to study directly in Germany or whether you first have to attend a preparatory course (Studienkolleg) at the information portal on the recognition of foreign educational qualifications (ANABIN).
Also, the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) operates a website where you can check whether your school leaving certificate qualifies you to study in Germany.
If you have a foreign university entrance qualification, it must be evaluated by our university as part of the application process. Please note that from 2021 on we will no longer cooperate with Uni-assist and this examination will be carried out exclusively by our university.

Your Curriculum Vitae or resume with your complete school/college/university history is also one of the required documents in your application.
A CV should not exceed two A4 pages. It allows you to list your educational career and the work experience you have obtained so far. Do not worry if you do not have any professional experience yet.
If you have a foreign university entrance qualification, it must be evaluated by our university as part of the application process. Therefor we charge a processing fee of 70.00 Euro for checking your documents. Please note that the evaluation will only take place when we can book the corresponding receipt of money.
Please ensure that this fee is paid in advance to the following bank account. Please note that payment reference must be stated exactly, otherwise your payment cannot be clearly allocated.

After having received an admission to our program, please apply for a student visa at the German embassy in your home country. Since a visa process can take several months, we kindly suggest applying for an appointment as soon as you receive our admission letter. A limited number of student apartments are available directly at the campus. They are reasonably priced, come fully equipped and provide high-speed internet access as well as being connected to our university intranet. In the International buddy program, exchange students and other new international students are matched with "local" / more experienced students from Trier University of Applied Sciences. The local buddys will help their partners with questions and take part in communal events organized by the International Office.

In principle, the recognition of achievements that have been made at other universities is of course possible. However, this implies that the corresponding subjects must be identical in terms of content / learning goals and the respective working hours. In order to check this, it is necessary that
A legally binding decision on credit recognition can only be made after the student’s official enrollment at the Environmental Campus Birkenfeld.
The coordination of such projects is done directly with the supervising professor. However, the individual approach of the colleagues may be very different. While some publish offers on their notice board, others prefer to discuss the possibilities in a personal meeting. If you have your own project idea, you can of course also ask professors whether they are willing to supervise you.
It is important to note that a project should always be a team effort. So if you have suitable colleagues and a rough idea, simply contact a professor directly and agree on the further procedure. The range of topics is very broad, we support almost any form of application of the scientific skills acquired during your studies.
Actually, the curriculum of the study program "SBT" does not include a semester abroad (it is an international study program, so it does not seem absolutely necessary to go abroad again). Of course, there is still the possibility to spend a semester abroad. We also support this because we consider it a valuable part of your education.
