Our students in the bachelor's and master's programs in environmental and business administration should receive a sound scientific education in the field of quantitative business administration and, at the same time, be prepared for responsible tasks in entrepreneurial practice. In order to achieve these goals, the focus is not only on teaching the necessary technical content, but also on strengthening the students' methodological competence.

In the basic course Mathematical Methods in Economics and Statistics and Market Research in the Bachelor's program, basic mathematical and statistical knowledge is taught. The students should be enabled to solve problems analytically and they should be able to apply the acquired knowledge practically in subsequent courses. In the courses on the topics of operations research and quantitative logistics, students are taught knowledge of models and methods of operations research and combinatorial optimization for operational problems with applications in logistics.

In addition to purely technical knowledge, students acquire skills in scientific work, in modeling problems and in practical problem-solving skills. Within the framework of the teaching program, a mixture of courses with a theoretical, practice-oriented and research-methodological focus is undertaken. The focus is on linking scientific foundations, current research questions and practical challenges. An interactive approach is taken in teaching, with lectures being supplemented by exercises and case studies with group work. Students participate in the form of presentations and discussions and are involved in research projects. Guest lectures and excursions to companies strengthen the link to practice and complete the course offering.
