Network drives

Each member of the Environmental Campus Birkenfeld has a personal folder on the file server of the computer centre where data can be stored. This has the advantage for you that the data is safely stored in this folder, as a daily backup is carried out and additionally a versioning of your data is carried out.

A network drive connection is possible from all computers that are connected to the campus network. This includes, for example, the computers in the PC pools, the dormitory computers and the workstations in the offices of the Environmental Campus. There, after registration, the personal folder is connected directly under the "drive letter Z:". All other shares are automatically connected under the "drive letter S:". For all other computers and laptops, as well as private devices, a connection to the VPN or WLAN - eduroam must first be established before a network drive connection is possible.

We have created a central data drive which serves as an entry point: \\umwelt-campus.de\Freigaben. There all available shares are listed automatically. In addition, you will find a link to all previous file shares and servers under the folder "Alte Filer". You will only see a share if you have the necessary access rights.
