New metal 3D printer at the Environmental Campus Birkenfeld

The equipment of the laboratories for additive manufacturing at the Institute for Business and Technology Management (IBT) of the Environmental Campus Birkenfeld is being expanded by another metal 3D printer. The new manufacturing machine was purchased for the INTERREG project ComPrintMetal3D "Application-related comparison of different 3D metal printing processes", which is coordinated by the Environmental Campus Birkenfeld.

Laboratory for additive manufacturing at the Environmental Campus Birkenfeld grows

The field of additive manufacturing, colloquially known as 3D printing, at the Environmental Campus Birkenfeld of Trier University continues to grow.

The Institute for Operations and Technology Management is in charge of the INTERREG project ComPrintMetal3D "Application-related comparison of different 3D metal printing processes" with the project partners htw saar, Université du Luxembourg and Any-Shape (Belgium) S.A. Furthermore, several strategic partners, especially small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), are involved in the project.

Last 6 approved projects for the funding period 2014-2020

The Steering Committee of the Interreg V A Greater Region program took place on October 8, 2020 via video conference. At the end of the voting, 6 projects submitted in the 5th and last call for projects were approved with reservation.

This reservation has now been lifted, so that the project ComPrintMetal3D can start.
