The research focus of my working group is in the field of particle technology, namely in the "product design" of solid substances, agglomeration technology, the caking behaviour of solids, the characterization of interparticle interactions and the investigation of the microstructure as well as the mechanical properties of solid particles. In these areas, both contract developments and basic research are carried out with partners from industry and academia.

Through collaboration in the "Section Group Product Design and Engineering" of the EFCE and as an appointed member of the ProcessNet specialist group "Agglomeration and Bulk Solids Technology", there is an intensive exchange with specialist colleagues from industry and academia.

In addition to the Technical Centre for Solids Process Engineering, two laboratories are available, one for the characterization of solids and another for the investigation of the caking tendency of solids and the characterization of individual particles under defined climatic conditions down to a minimum particle size of 20 µm.
