Robotics knows no borders - joint research in the Robotix-Academy
Research and learn together in the Greater Region - The Robotix-Academy (IP 002-4-09-001) is a cross-border research cluster that enables research in the field of industrial robotics and human-robot cooperation and inspires engineers of tomorrow with innovations. The project partners combine teaching, research as well as technology transfer and offer a unique robotics network. Launched in 2016, the project is funded under the INTERREG V A Greater Region program and aims to establish a permanent industrial robotics research cluster by 06/2022.

Teaching and research
In order to optimally exploit the innovation potential of the Greater Region, the Academy aims to conduct excellent research. In addition, various Robotix lectures and summer schools are offered. In addition, the RACIR - Robotix-Academy Conference for Industrial Robotics is organized annually.

In the project, students are employed as research assistants. Later on, they can work as research assistants.

Technology transfer
The Academy builds up know-how to make it available to industry. It mainly supports SMEs in introducing new technologies, but large companies also benefit from the training and consulting services. In most cases, they lack skilled workers because well-educated university graduates tend to apply to large companies in other regions. Universities are currently unable to meet this demand. Therefore, employees (skilled workers, technicians) who are already in the company should be trained and further educated. This reduces the shortage of skilled workers in the greater region and makes it more attractive and competitive.

Participation network
Through cross-border cooperation, partners bring together their specific know-how and jointly apply for publicly funded projects, which they implement together with SMEs. Often companies are deterred by national borders and look for research and development partners only in their own country. The Robotix Academy dissolves these borders and brings together partners within the Greater Region.
